- Other Fabricator/Installers as approved by architect prior to bid.
1.06 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Testing: Panels furnished under this Section shall have been tested in accordance with tests specified under this Article; provide certification by panel supplier showing compliance with requirements. Otherwise perform tests through an approved laboratory and provide certified tests results. Test results shall meet indicated standards.
- Deflections and Thermal Movements; Provide panel supplierâs products and system that are capable of withstanding building movements and weather exposures, including wind loading of 40 lbs/ sq ft inward and 40 lbs / sq ft outward, and which are capable of performing within the following limitations:
- Structural Performance: Shall have been tested in accordance with ASTM E330-96 at design. Pressure of 40 lbs/ sq ft. No permanent deformation or failures of structural members shall occur.
- Leakage Resistance, Water, and Air: Provide the panel supplierâs system that has been tested to demonstrate permanent resistance to leakage as follows:
- Air Leakage: AT 1.57 psf, not more that 0.06 cfm/ft2 of wall area when tested in accordance with ASTM E283-91.
- Water Penetration: Water penetration in this specification is defined as the appearance of uncontrolled water in the wall. Provisions shall be made in the design to drain to the exterior face of the wall any leakage of water at joints and/or any condensation within the construction. No water infiltration under static pressure when tested in accordance with ASTM E331-93 at a differential of 10% of inward acting design load, 6.24 psf minimum after 15 minutes.
1.07 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- Deliver panels and other components so they will not be damaged or deformed. Package composite wall panels for protection against transportation damage. Identify fabricated units and component panels per erection drawings.
- Handling: Exercise care in unloading, storing, and erecting panels to prevent bending, warping, twisting, and surface damage.
- Storage: Store composite panels in well-ventilated space out of direct sunlight. Protect panels from moisture and condensation with tarpaulins or other suitable weather tight covering installed to allow ventilation. Panels shall be sloped to insure positive drainage of any accumulated water. Do not store panels in closed containers or unventilated spaces where temperatures can exceed 120 degrees F. Do not store panels in contact with other materials that might cause straining, denting, or other surface damage.
